Sub: What makes Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali a great leader.
Sir,
Literally speaking, the variety of given beautiful topics made it bit harder to pick the right choice. To get a spark, I floated the idea in a group of young students that Quaid-e-Azam is my ideal personality but received a laugh. I didnt get hurt at all for the very obvious reason: How can a small vessel hold an endless ocean in it?
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was really a great figure and it needs a certain level of grandeur to understand this great personality. This soaring eagle cant be grabbed by humming birds.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was leader in true sense of this word. Who is leader? A person, creature or supernatural power with rare qualities. What did he not have: Consistency, inspiration, adventuresome spirit, uniqueness, boldness, selflessness, foresight, nobleness and lofty aim? Indeed, he had all the qualities of a real hero.
My Quaid had a deep insight. He understood the secret of earthly life very well that existence depends on struggle to our last breath, so he uttered work, work and work. He relied on sense instead of senses, thats why we do not see him as an emotional soul but a rational man.
His popular motto Unity, faith and discipline forms a complete constitution in itself. He was not a fundamentalist but still religious at heart. How beautifully did he unite religion and others affairs of state?
Jinnah is a message of endless struggle. No ‘ifs and buts’ but target oriented work was his aim. Odds are odds and they have been existing since the very creation of this planet. Today the souls of so called leaders shiver with the mere idea of opposition of the enemy when we are independent while he faced the staunch opposition of the Hindus and the British rule when we were slaves.
Time of crises is the real test of potential of a man. What crises could be more fatal for the Muslim nation than the fact that the deadly game of Spain was being repeated to perish the Muslim identity from the sub-continent? The enemy was strong and united while the Muslims the scattered straws without even the equipment of education. Nehru seems right here saying: If we had only one Muhammad Ali, Pakistan could never have been existed. Salute to his vision, courage and conviction.
Comparing with other leaders, we dont feel ashamed but feel honour and dignity remembering the fact that our leader was unparalleled and really deserved to be called Quaid-e-Azam, the greatest leader. His footsteps are guidance to all and for all. Divine Messengers an exception, he is a leader of leaders!
Institutions were not established and Media was not strong enough to check any irregularity being done in the government circles but our Quaid did not avail this opportunity of plundering the assets of this new land merely because he did not want to secure his off springs but all off springs! Banks abroad did exist but he did not deposit the bounty there. All safe heavens existed but he did not flee there to seek refuge simply because he was loyal to his nation and considered himself a patron and patrons should behave as nobly with their countries as this great figure did. If suspected, probe his assets and nothing will be found except his deep love for his nation. Actually he kept his word what he said to the students of Islamia College Peshawar in 1948, Our duty to the state comes first, and our duty to the province, district, town and village and to ourselves comes next.
Folks say nothing can be done without Baba Quaid-e-Azam (means no work can be getting done in this country without money or paying bribes.)Alas, if nothing were done without Quaid-e-Azam literally. What an irony! What a misery!
He is a symbol of perpetual virtue. This is the beauty of heavenly creatures that they are away from the wickedness of selfishness. How noble was my Quaid who sacrificed his self to atone for the sins his nation had committed in previous centuries and was ultimately punished by the yoke of slavery. Nations fall down in years and rise back in centuries. Look, my nation fell down in centuries and he lifted it in years! Probably, he was a heavenly soul came on Earth for our rescue.
Service was his aim but not the service in our meaning. He devoted himself for a noble cause. He had established himself as successful lawyer but he preferred to work for his nation instead of satisfying his appetite by earning money. Government service was at his disposal but he bade it farewell realizing the fact that beggars can never be choosers.
No doubt he worked for the partition of India but this can never be regarded as his negative approach. This shows his loyalty to his land, India, when he said to Raja of Mahmud Abad Circa in 1925: I am an Indian first, second and last.He joined the Congress and tried his best but the narrow minded opponents left only one option for him, the Muslim League. Unlike the conventional politicians, he did not rely on intrigues but worked on the principle of fair play.
Jinnah is leader of all sects of society, the Muslims and non-Muslims, men and women, adults and children and haves and have-nots. His speeches clearly reflect his concern about all of these.
I come across with my Quaid daily. Apparently silent but his silent lips are still whispering something in my ears Muhammad AliMuhammad, Muhammad (S.A.W), Muhammad Ibne Abdullah.O child of my nation! O my only hope! Follow Muhammad (S.A.W) and see Almighty Allah honouring you like Ali, Ali Ibne Talib. Then, you will neither borrow money from the West nor greatness from imitation of the world outside. The world inside you will become the orbit of the world. Who blames that humans are mortal; we are born immortal. Death is but a turn to begin life from a new dimension. Look into my eyes, be brave my child, remove all fears, and join me in immortal world. If you exist, why dont you really exist?
My Quaid, my dear Quaid, my sweet Quaid, Muhammad Ali, you are my leader. You are my ideal. No, you are my ideal leader. Nay, you are everything to me. Your glimpse has given me a new life. Now this life is yours. You gave up everything for my sakefor the sake of my nation. I will sacrifice at least something dear to me for your sakefor the sake of my nation. I will gift my generations something, something noble: long lasting freedom, everlasting joy.
Earth sees downfall of nations daily but rise of such heroes (as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was) in centuries. May his soul rest in best portions of heaven!
Thank you sir for providing us with this opportunity to express our love for our leader.
Well wisher,
Nadeem Pinsota
